This page describes how work actually gets published here, including the parts that are uncomfortable to write down. If we are not doing something described below, that is a mistake worth reporting.
Sourcing
Factual claims are checked against a primary source: a ministry or agency release, an examinations council notice, or the awarding body's own page. Where we cannot verify something, we either say so in the piece or leave it out. We do not repeat a claim because another outlet ran it.
Numbers
We do not publish statistics we cannot attribute, and we do not decorate pages with invented figures about our own reach or results. If a sentence needs a number we do not have, the sentence gets rewritten.
Deadlines and dates
Scholarship deadlines move every cycle. Rather than guess, an entry whose current-cycle date we have not confirmed is shown as dates to confirm. A wrong deadline is worse than an absent one, because a reader acts on it.
How we use AI tools
We use them, and we would rather say so than be found out. They are used to research, to draft, and to generate illustrative header images. They are not used to publish.
Every article passes through a named human editor before it goes live, and the system records who approved it and when. Automated drafting produces drafts; publication is a decision a person makes. Header images are illustrative and are generated with prompts that exclude text, logos and interfaces.
Bylines
Every article carries a named author with a public page. If you want to know who stands behind a piece, that link is the answer.
Advertising and commercial content
Advertising is served by third parties and is labelled. Advertisers have no say in what we cover or how we cover it. Where an article mentions one of our own services, that is stated in the article. We do not publish paid posts dressed as editorial.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it, and we say what changed rather than editing quietly. Material corrections are noted on the article itself. Report an error through the contact page or to editor@1hrnews.com and we will look at it.
What we will not do
We do not ask for examination PINs or index numbers. We do not promise admission, an award, or a search ranking. We do not buy traffic, and we do not publish pages whose only purpose is to rank.
